Its meant to be this way

People tend to have two faces, one while they are in trouble and one when things are all over and under control;
they ask favor and willing to do anything in return when they need something but later when they get back the reward then they forget the initial words that they gave to others to help them to achieve it, huh it happened to me, my friend who runs a travel agency like I do and there was a big project worth millions of money and the requirements of goods are very high and he doesn't have it and I sacrificed to attend the project because my friend wants to join and borrow my goods such as Portable Altitude Chamber and post paid Thurya Satellite Phone, which my friend thoroughly used and later told me he didn't use, which I said its okay because its meant for use only but today I received the Satellite Bill and ask him the amount that he used. Guess what he told me? He said he cant pay because he has no money, huh this really drove me crazy, every day is a learning lesson day, thanks god the amount is not huge because I have to pay the local service provider in USD.

Gandhi back from home town

Gandhi, My friend is back from his home after doing the annual ceremony and visiting his family in the Eastern Bhutan.
We had lunch in town and then coffee at Khamsa Coffee cafe just upstairs to Druk Air Thimphu Office.
It was infact fun day but nothing to put it down in words because its something small, tiny bits makes it special but very difficult to explain, huh.

It's again my Jeep...

I just don't know how to begin describing the problem I DDR everyday with my Jeep; huh! People have hobby and one of mine is driving a fancy Jeep which is really killing me financially, mentally, you name it, one problem after another, if you had read my yesterday's blog you know I have let my jeep borrowed to my Buddhist Master but at around 6pm which is so cold winter evening he calls me to ask whether there is any problem when starting my jeep cause he couldn't do it and I went to check and it doesn't start, I called upon my Jeep Guru, Jigme Tshewang who drives 6cylinder Red Jeep which is more powerful and strong cause mine is 4cylinder. He wasn't busy and he said he will come and help and he did and he figured it out that my battery is weak, suprising because I put in a new battery just a month ago, crazy.
He took put his battery and put into my jeep and recharge my battery which works perfectly fine and I let it recharge my battery for almost 2 hour even when I reached my home garage.
This morning I had hell of a time trying to start cause again the battery problem and needed help which again Jigme, Ugyen and Jigme's inlaw come to push my jeep to start which happened good. I needed to either change or charge my battery but I had the warranty of the battery that I bought month ago and if there is any problem I can exchange for new and my warranty expires, I don't no second chance but to be replaced with new one and as of now it's working fine and I keep my fingers crossed that I don't face the same problem again tomorrow morning, you know the feeling how first thing doesn't work, it spoils the whole day.
Since it's Thursday I did go and do my prayer at my monastery and I m happy!!!

Nothing BUT Windy Wednesday

Starting from morning it's so windy here in Thimphu, Capital City of Bhutan. No sun but cloudy and makes it even colder.
Since I went to bed late last night, I got up close to noon and had my normal cup of fresh milk and head to office.
I received a call from my Buddhist Master or Rimpoche that he wants to temporally borrow my Jeep and let me use his personal car which is a great honor.
I sent Dawa my office driver to clean and refuel Rimpoche's car at Workshop because its little dirty.
I and Dendup had lunch at his favorite Seow Tsho Restaurant.
We drop by at Yak Handicraft Shop where we chatted for while and back to Office.
Its kinda boring but very windy day.

Cold but Good Day

I went to meet the Joint Director of Marketing and Promotion at Tourism Council of Bhutan with regard to justification of complaint launched by one of the hectic hotelier from Bumthang, Crazy guy, all went well because I have all evidence of facts.
Lunch with Dasho Karma at same place where we had lunch yesterday. One of Dasho Karma's friend feel on the floor after he finished eating and on his way to wash his hand, guess what? He has broken one Chair handle, hahahaha.

Pig Head Party

Yesterday was a very exciting day because by all means I gotta let the Mechanics work on my Jeep and take it out from the workshop because I really miss my JEEP! Which I did it at around 7pm, I made the mechanics stay overtime and pay for but the get the work done.
In the earlier week we, both me my my three friends decided to drive from Thimphu to Paro and party and have a Traditional Hot Stone Bath at Tandiling Resort which is owned by Lambo Tshering Tobgay, another good friend.
Dendup who is the Co-Partner of ABC Tours bought one white giant pig head and we drove to party and let the chef do all cookings and we did out Hot Stone Bath and later we had a great White Pig Head Dinner.
Sorry one of our friend Jigme couldn't come along as he got a important work back at home but actually there should be only 3 of us, Dendup, Lambo and Myself but there were total five of us because Dendup brought along his two sons whom I named it as Junior Dendups' because they have the same character of their dad and I even told Dendup, The Senior or the Father that before his death there were already 2 incarnations of him.
Well I admit we had a wonderful dinner but it would have been more fun and complete if Sharine would have been there, we all are Missing you!

1st Snowfall of 2011, Govt Holiday

Yesterday Thimphu residents received 1st Snowfall for 2011 and the Home Ministry declared Government Holiday to cherish and celebrate it, because it is believed to be very special for the Country as whole and for all living beings for 101 reasons, good for everything.
I did my 2011 Office Buddhist Ceremony at my apartment in Changzamtog. It was a great one and presided by His Holiness Jamgen Truelku or Siwala Truelku and 7 other monks from local monastery.
It was a full day ceremony and feels good when its done at the end of the day.
Later at night I invited my friends to come for dinner and few of them turned up because most of them they were out at their respective home town to cast their Vote for the City Thrompon. These are few of the friends who turned up; Dasho Major Jamyang, Dasho Karma (Retd), Jigme & Daniel from Bhutan Cricket, Karma from NEC, Lambo Tashi from Hiring Agency, Apa Jamtsho (The Evergreen Guy), Tenzin from Rumours.
We had a great dinner, chat and fun.

Its 11AM and I have finished all my mail respondings and I m off for some fresh air outside, otherwise I m going to fall asleep with this electric heater in between my legs, huh.

No plan for lunch yet but I gotta go do some vegetable shopping for my 2011 Buddhist Ceremony which is going to take place tomorrow.

Anyway I was invited for house warming party of Dasho Karma Chogyal, at Jungshina, upper Thimphu. Well there I was joined with few other friends from our same circle of friends which include; Tenzin (owner of Rumours) Jigme (CEO of Bhutan Cricket Council) Daniel (Chief Finance Officer, Bhutan Cricket) Jagu, Wakley (Fashion Guy) Lambo and his girlfriend and another pretty girl (one of our friend's girlfriend). We all had red rice, Sikam Paa (air dried white pork) Cauliflower with cheese, Ezay, Beef with Chilly, Chilly with Cheese, it was such a great lunch with chance to catch up with everyone one. While having and after we did  chat over our daily life, work and new year resolutions.

Missing my blog

I miss to blog yesterday well again I guess I was true and in fact it's true because these are the things that I did and accomplish;
1st Hour, I went to do my prayer and offer butter lamb and incense to my usual monastery because its THURSDAY and its my day to do good deeds and I m trying to follow it and maintain as thats one day in a week to do good Karma and wash my sins.
I had lunch with my two monk friends in my office, they had chicken curry and pork curry with rice and I had egg fried rice which was yummy.
I went home early because I have two carpenters coming in to fix my main door and some other wood works, which I need to prepare tea and snacks.

Today I got up early as I have to go to Druk Punjab National Bank (Druk PBN) for some banking work.
I had lunch with Tshering and Sharine at Seow Tsho Restaurant where we had Pig Head, Ribs, Chilly Cheese and Red rice.
Thats all for now..................

Know what? it's intresting

It was cold winter morning where my door bell rings and I m still inside my warm bed watching CNN, it was no other than my land lady whom I m seeing after almost a year because she is busy with her own life and as long as I pay her the rent on time, there is no need to know whereabouts me. But this time she had come to tell me that the water pipe that links to my kitchen had been broken from outside due to the ice inside the pipe that gets frozen during night time and she wants to fix it, no wonder I had no water in my kitchen for almost a week now, huh she got the reason and I should say I m lucky because other land lords ask the tenants to fix and repair if there are any problem but mine is exceptional and I m thankful to her, really because lately I m broke after my trip to US, hahahahahaha funny but it isn't because when I m broke I don't feel like doing anything, feels lethargic, everything seems to be still, you know what I mean.

Red Jeep from Jigme Tshewang

Its a good day because Chimi the spare parts dealer left for Bangkok to bring in more parts for the Bhutanese Motor Cars, because the demand was increasing everyday and good for me personally because the Water Pump that I got from Bangkok isn't right from my adorable JEEP so I was looking for second hand ones but no luck, Chimi promised me he will bring one from down under. It has been 4 nights that my Jeep remains off road and parked at STCB (State Trading Corporation of Bhutan) garage, I miss my jeep.
I m not a handicap today because my friend Jigme Tshewang from Country Travel gave me his 6 Cylinder Red Jeep for use till my jeep runs on road again. Jigme himself is driving i20 and very kind of him.
Well I got a call from Tshering Tobgay "Mr. T" and Sharine "My Babe, My Honey, you name it) that they had landed safely in Paro International Airport and Tshering's health is improving, which is great news because back in Kuala Lumpur Sharine is having a tough took taking care of him especially when he was going through many blood tests and the Doctors didn't really tell them the specific illness, which is frustrating isn't??? At least for me.
Well i gotta stop here because my new TV Series is about to come and I gotta make a black coffe and stay put to enjoy it.
Oh I forgot to mention that I had big lunch at Jigme's mom's place, near the India House Estate.
Anyway I m going to rock again from tomorrow with RED JEEP IN TOWN.......

Monday is always busy

It was absolutely a very busy Monday, by all means I need to process Mrs. Sharine's visa and get it approved before Tourism Council of Bhutan's office closes at 4pm and also book and buy her round trip Druk Air ticket from Druk Air, Royal Bhutan Airlines sales office here in Thimphu.
My finance division also needs me in office as we are closing Accounts for 2010 and ready to submit before deadline that's before end of March.
My old Haa School buddy, Phub Dorji called to meet up for Lunch and we did at Kamal Restaurant down stairs to my office, The JOJO'S Building on Changlam.
I spared myself for going to workshop to check progress on my Jeep and work in under progress! Hopefully my tomorrow afternoon I will have my Jaap back, My Jeep Rocks!

PARALA Sunday

Tenzing left very early for Paro with mom as it's final day of bonding the land measured papers, so I got up like 11:30 and had my normal men thing, shower, shave, brush and changes to clean clothes and dump the unclean ones for washing.
I went to my apartment in Changzamtog to changes and refill all offerings and clean the apartment.
Gandhi my friend came over and we had a chat and shared a coffee together and then he gave me ride to town where I met couple of friends and we played PARALA, it was fun and good way to kill time on bored and cold Sunday.
That's my Sunday and I had a good dinner and here I m infront of the Gas Heater and enjoying BBS. I hope you guys had a good Sunday.

1st weekend of 2011

It's 1st week end of 2011 and I was on my way from Thimphu to Paro International Airport to see off my friend who is flying to New Delhi after his holiday in Bhutan. Well point here is that I love sleeping and getting up late but I have to get up at 8 and then pick up my friend from hotel Jhomolhari at 8:30 and heads to Paro but again same story I got stucked at the same road block for almost a hour but after crossing the block we drove little crazy like F1 and reached on time at the airport.
Lucky that I had a cup of black coffee at the airport before I deke back to Thimphu because here I m at the block again and it has been more than a hour now and only god knows when I can get through this block. This is my day so far because it's midday.

My Jeep My Trouble

I just had my Jeep's engine oil and Engine coolant changed yesterday and it was perfectly fine when I drove from workshop or garage to home but this morning when I was about to start, I saw a big pool of redish liquid underneath by jeep, that was the new coolant that I filled in the radiator yesterday, it's shocking and scary too. I have no choice but to start and take the Jeep and drive back to workshop.
As I mentioned in my earlier blogs that my pocket becomes empty just because of my Jeep repair, the head mechanic told me my Water Filter is broken and needs to change, which is again costing me another few thousands Ngultrums. I would be happy if it's available in market but can't be found nowhere but to order in Bangkok and will be delivered only on Sunday and my Jeep can be fixed only on Monday which in result I have to leave my Jeep in the workshop for next three days and I m handicapped! January isn't a good month for me personally. That's what I did and spend my hectic day with my Jeep!!!

THURSDAY; ITS MY DAY

THURSDAY IS MY DAY; It's all because I m born on the SHEEP YEAR and Thursday is supposed to be good day to make important decisions, pilgrimage, offerings, prayer or generally something good for GOOD KARMA because its your day as per the Buddhist belief.
I get up early, take shower, do all my Buddhist offerings at my Altar or Shine and then have breakfast and put on my National Dress "GHO" and head off to my Monastery to offer my prayers, forgiveness for my sin and bright week ahead because I go pay respect every Thursday, no matter what, I m not a very religious person but I believe there is something, someone above who is Mr. Invisible but very powerful and if I make sin or do something bad, he will punish me in a broad day light. As I m not perfect because I m not enlightened, so I admit I make lots of mistakes and Mr. Invisible is not happy but I don't keep long for forgiveness but week's time. Frankly I don't know how good I m in convincing him seeking forgiveness but I try my best and try not to do the same mistake again in the near future, honestly I don't promise because there is no guarantee, sometimes I may forget or sometimes I have to do the same mistake to escape myself from trouble or problems, which in human life is acceptable but I don't think Mr. Invisible can because I have not heard back from him yet!!!
After my visit to the monastery I went back to my office to respond to emails from my clients, that took me a while because every email is different because Human Nature is different from one another, so are their respective intrest.
After all these I went to workshop or garage where i desperately needed to fix my Jeep's Clutch and Brake Pad because its a very old Jeep, 27 years and lots of fixation which makes my pocket empty at all times. Anyway the good thing is I managed to fix it and here I m back at my apartment updating what I promised myself as New Year Resolution to update my BLOG Everyday. Good Night from Bhutan, Land of the Thunder Dragon and Gross National Happiness.

Life at the Road Block

Its Wednesday 5th January 2011, Government Holiday in Bhutan to celebrate The Traditional Day of Offering where Families get together enjoy big good meal, talk important stuffs, wedding and etc something important.
For me particularly nothing of that sort because I received a telephone call from my Indian friend who is coming to Bhutan from Delhi in the afternoon flight, so i went to receive him at Paro International Airport around 12noon with a thought that I can go and meet some of my friends and have lunch together in downtown Paro and started my 1 hour journey from Thimphu.
I reached Chuzom, where the Thimphu river meets the Paro River and forms River Wangchu in 30 minutes time which is not bad driving, can call it cool!
After crossing Chuzom and reaching at Tamchog Monastery there were about 50 cars stopped and parked, I wonder why because its not summer where there are chances or landslide or I even thought of a car accident. Than I came out of my car and asked the people who were sitting on the white culvert, eating Doma (bettle nut, bettle leaf and lime) in reaction, it gives kick and keeps you warm but very addictive, I used eat alot but it makes your mouth red as if I put on a lipstick, it stinks and also lots of stains on the tooth which is negative on my appearance hahahaha
I got stuck for another 3 hours and I couldn't reach Airport to receive my friend in which it made me call my half brother who works at the airport to pick up my friend and drive toward Thimphu so that once the road block gets open I can drive towards and collect my friend from my brother's car. I managed to get off from the road block and when I reached Isuna Village I managed to get hold of my brother and I formally receive my friend and drove back to Thimphu again on the way I was stopped for another hour or so and finally we reached Thimphu before dark and we had dinner at Hotel Jhomolhari where he is spending 3nights of his stay in Thimphu.

Gosh! Its 5pm and I m having a stomach ache. Guess What? I totally forgot to eat lunch, damn too much work and tension because not much of business inflow lately, hopefully it will change to the BEST.
You may wonder, how and what made me busy, I think I have responded to almost 11 emails starting from morning till now. None of them are same because clients have different intrest of traveling and exploring Bhutan and want to know much more upfront and choose what to see when they actually in Bhutan and make sure it fits in their duration of stay. Some ask to send detailed the Famous Jhomolhari 8night 9days itinerary, the Druk Path 4night 5days Trek Itinerary, Thimphu Festival Itinerary, Paro Festival Itinerary, Bumthang Festival, Wangdue Festival, Biking Itinerary, Rafting Itinerary most interesting and enjoy corresponding is a couple from Colorado who want to visit for 2 weeks time and want to experience Bhutanese wedding, they are so prompt and wonderful couple.
